Issues covered in the episode: Corporate brainwashing, end-user agreements, mobile phone GPS tracking, the Apple Store employee God-complex, parenting, law, and the middle class letting the man fuck them, but mostly: kids being stupid fucking idiots.
For example: Cartmen (the satirical expression of today’s youth) tells a TV Host: “[my mom] fucks me on Christmas, she fucks me on my birthday–she won’t even kiss me before she fucks me!” Exemplifying the state of our spoiled children–controlling their parents who are crippled by what I call “big-psychology.” Made up of the Dr. Phil-s of the world.
Funny right? The true lesson in this episode teaches us the severity of the epidemic that is our culture’s forced-illiteracy. That’s the thing when a person who CAN READ, chooses not to, when they should.
Not that I hate Apple, but it’s pretty funny watching this episode. Why? Because for the past five years, I’ve felt like I’m the only person who has never owned and Apple product. (Unless you count iTunes, which is technically correct.) I’ve never owned a Mac, and iPod, or any other Apple product.
There are few things funnier–from the perspective of the PC-user–than Cartman getting so excited, for the new Apple product, that he exclaims ”it does email and web browsing, and it shits in Kyle’s mouth? This is the greatest thing that’s ever been invented!”
What we really need to do is invent our own products, our own businesses; our own lives. Why let a glossy, well-design Apple product determine our purchasing habits, our budgets, or our Holiday seasons? I say we take back our blue jeans and our black turtle necks and say, “hey! Want to go see that Childish Gambino show in Detroit next week?”
Until then… it looks like Apple has found their B.
